The Manager, Corporate Disbursement Operations manages global Accounts Payable for all AbbVie legal entities. Failure to achieve appropriate results will result in loss of cash to AbbVie and / or internal control failures and/or inaccurate financial statements. Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Scope =~$11.5 Billion per annum of payments across all AbbVie global legal entities incl. associated accounting.
  • Maintain process integrity, internal controls and ensure compliance with AbbVie policy and all applicable laws and regulations (Incl. Sarbanes-Oxley and OEC).
  • Team representative in global and country specific process design, operational discussions and corporate policy proposal discussions.
  • Regularly interacts with and presents analysis to internal and external stakeholders across all levels of management and geographies.
  • Actively seek and address challenges that can change the operations of the overall function including evaluation of AbbVie policy or business changes or legal requirements.
  • Design and operate internal controls to ensure accuracy of financial statements and avoid loss to the organization.
  • Identify and propose solutions to remediate internal control gaps where applicable.
  • Provide Customer Service through ensuring continuity of business operations by paying vendors on time or identify barriers to achievement and partner with relevant stakeholders to remove barriers.
  • AbbVie outsourced operations to be managed as an extension of the AbbVie function with contractual escalation to the BPO Governance team where appropriate.
  • Design management dashboards to monitor payment performance and proactively perform data analytics
Qualifications Basic:
  • 10 Years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable, Accounting and Purchasing Operations
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accounting.
  • Significant experience using SAP (AP, GL, & Purchasing functions), other enabling technologies
  • (OCR, SRM etc.) and Microsoft Office.
  • Significant experience in a Global Finance Function of a multi-location, multi-national corporation.
  • Proven ability to lead Teams and Projects to successful completion.
  • Extensive capability in identification and implementation of process improvements.
  • Experience in managing staff members and outsource relationships.
  • Requires the ability to quickly establish credibility with diverse audiences and be perceived as a leader.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, an inquisitive mind, and the ability to work effectively with dotted line and non-reporting functions.
  • Less than 25% travel.

Global Scope: Internal: Finance Directors, CoE's (Accounting, Tax, Procurement and Treasury, Outsource etc.), IT, Shared Service groups, OEC, External: Vendors, Business Process Outsourcers, External audit, Banks.
