The HCV Account Executive will be tasked with effectively and efficiently managing all targeted IDN's / health systems within the assigned geography. The HCV Account Executive will serve as principle representative to deliver approved HCV messaging, including but not limited to: Disease state management, testing and treatment protocols, standards of care, HEOR and cost of care models, as well as other approved branded and nonbranded messages. The Account Executive will play a critical role in the local Integrated Brand Teams, selected I-CAT programs and all pull through initiatives related to the Veteran Administration, Department of Corrections and all appropriate Specialty Pharmacies. Developing high level customer relationships will be required at all accounts. Additionally, working closely with all retail and Managed Care colleagues will be important to ensure the ongoing development of key business relationships, while executing against the regional business strategy. Key Job Responsibilities:
To ensure effective and efficient sales execution related to data agreements, testing and treatment protocols and all other approved messaging, while establishing a competitive advantage for Abbvie and the HCV franchise. Additional responsibilities include the following:
  • Supporting the evolution of a new Abbvie and franchise culture
  • Ensure the development of multi-level customer relationships
  • Ensure access, time and attention with key IDN decision makers
  • Accountability for sales results by customer
  • Efficient and timely communication to sales leadership
  • High functioning relationships within local Integrated Brand teams.
  • Alignment with Retail Sales colleagues
  • Complete compliance of Abbvie policies and procedures
  • The development and execution of a geographic sales plan
Other Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain an ongoing understanding of each account's goals and objectives. In addition, ensure that all HCV activities are aligned to those goals in a manner that optimizes patient access to Abbvie HCV therapies. This should be accomplished by direct contact with key decision makers and influencers within the account. The Account Executive will be responsible for staying abreast of key changes that impact Abbvie including: payment models, specialty pharmacy contracting, HCV treatment protocols and quality measures. Key call points within assigned IDN's include:
  • Lead HCV treater / decision maker
  • Director, Outpatient Services
  • Director, Internal Medicine
  • Director, Hepatology, GE and/or ID
  • Director, Case Management
  • Director, Clinical Integration / Clinical Decision Support
  • Director, Pharmacy
  • Director, Quality

To inspire a passion to learn as a key platform to continuously traverse the competitive landscape for new ideas that cultivates patient, provider and payer based solutions. Allocation: A sharp focus on resources through trade-offs. Having the discipline to allocate resources to specific areas and opportunities rather than spreading them evenly across the business. A prioritized list of IDN accounts will be needed to help assess total account value related to patient access. Action: The Account Executive is expected to execute not only the IDN sales plan, but support all Regional Business strategies to achieve the stated goals and objectives. It will be important for the Account Executive to quickly assess the opportunity and corresponding impact within the assigned geography. Developing a sales plan that is properly aligned with the retail DM's within the local Integrated Brand Team is essential. Qualifications: Basic:
  • BS Degree and 3+ years successful sales experience
  • Ability to demonstrate account management skills.
  • Should understand key market segments and drivers (i.e. providers, payors, integrated delivery networks, distributors, specialty pharmacy, patient, patient advocates and policy makers).
  • Required to satisfy all applicable health care industry rep (HCIR) credentialing (cred'g) requirements to gain & maintain entry into facilities and orgs in assigned territory. Must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain these credentials. These HCIR cred'g requirements may include, but are not limited to, background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination for various diseases, fingerprinting & specific licenses required by states or cities.
Preferred:
  • Prefer at least 1-2 years of account based pharmaceutical sales experience, district manager experience and/or marketing experience.
  • Knowledge of key non-retail market segments (Department of Corrections, Long-term care and Veterans Administration) is a plus.
  • Prefer Hepatitis/Hepatology, Infectious Disease, Virology or Gastro experience.
