The AbbVie Experiential Internship Program

As an AbbVie Experiential Intern, you'll participate in a paid, ten to twelve-week summer program that is focused on providing students with robust projects throughout the summer. As an intern, you will be located at our corporate headquarters in north suburban Chicago, with housing and shuttle services for eligible students.

Department Overview - Global Compound Logistics & Operations (GCLO)

GCLO encompasses the business applications and operations to enable sample management for R&D early discovery. We are a global team of about 40 personnel at Lake County, IL, Worcester, MA, and Ludwigshafen, Germany. We manage roughly 1.7 million small molecule compounds and the IT systems for both small molecules and biologics.

Assignment Details

Testing of applications is crucial to the quality of the delivered system. The Test Analyst role is responsible for initially identifying and subsequently defining the required tests, monitoring the test coverage and evaluating the overall quality of the test execution. This role also involves specifying the required test data and evaluating the outcome of the testing conducted in each test cycle. Each project within the GCLO portfolio that results in changes to a deployed system requires testing according to established procedures. This role will initially assist with testing activities and expand into planning and leading those efforts.

Tasks to be performed:

Author test protocols from requirements

Ensure traceability and coverage between protocols and requirements

Execute test protocols and record results

Ensure testing activities are appropriately represented within the project plan

Ensure established test processes are followed

Qualifications

Basic:

Completed at least one year of college education before beginning internship

Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship

Undergraduate Level Student - majoring in business, communications, IT, computer science, or related field

Minimum Cumulative GPA: 3.0/4.0

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated).

Preferred:

Any IT systems or methodology major/discipline, good organizational and collaboration skills, attention to detail.
