Job Summary:
The Associate Director, Training and Development, IOPS will be responsible for working with business to establish a comprehensive training strategy for the Rensselaer site focused on non-technical and managerial skills. In addition, this role will be responsible for establishing training standards, designing and developing training programs, and delivering training to a wide audience of learners.

Essential Job Functions:
• Set the overall training strategy for the IOPS Business that builds identified skills, knowledge, and abilities and creates a sustainable infrastructure for ongoing training
• Identify and assess future and current training needs through consultation with key IOPS business leaders, HR, Tarrytown L&OD, leveraging the RENS career paths, reviewing performance documents, and gathering other data as needed.
• Design and deliver training program for both managerial and non-managerial staff in
partnership with the L&OD team in Tarrytown.
• Deliver trainings to a diverse staff with varying roles, responsibilities, skills set, education levels, and experiences
• Serve as a learning resource for the broader organization. More specifically, this role will help the business and other key stakeholders understand adult learning theory and how to structure that within effective training programs. In addition, this role will establish training standards for the organization.
• Manage and develop a team of training experts and coordinators to effectively maximize their contribution and their potential.
• Identify vendors and manage those relationships to maximize the impact of training within the site.
• Manage the training budget for IOPS.
• Leverage a wide variety of training delivery options (e-learning, instructor led, etc.) to deliver engaging and quality programs.
• Identify specific techniques and practices that managers can use to reinforce concepts in key areas of learning and development.
• Create a set of training metrics designed to measure effectiveness and impact of training programs.
• Work with the AD, Learning and Development in Raheen, Ireland to drive a consistent set of trainings.
• Serve as the point person for all L&OD requests and partner with the team in Tarrytown to respond to and resource requests.
Experience and Required Skills:
• Masters degree in Training/OD, HR, Education, or equivalent experience in related field is required
• Minimum of 7 years experience in designing and delivering leadership and management programs
• Minimum 3 years experience directly managing and supervising personnel
• Knowledgeable about instructional design methodology and application for effective learning
• Knowledge of learning management systems
• Ability to facilitate content to multiple audience levels
• Strong business acumen, client-service, and results orientation
• Superior analytical and conceptualization skills
• Excellent project management skills including planning, logistics, program management, and scheduling
• Ability to manage multiple complex assignments, with proven ability to assess competing priorities in a high energy, fast paced environment
• Can negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships both internally and externally
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
• Able to motivate others including direct reports and others
• Strong communicator with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Can effectively cope with change and can shift gears comfortably
• Highly effective in ambiguous and unstructured environments and able to produce maximum results with little direction and guidance; self motivated
• Can decide and act without having the total picture
