Position Summary

This person will be working in Molecular & Transgenic Biology within Velocigene in Tarrytown, NY. The student will work with our Scientists and Research Associates on molecular assembly of gene targeting vectors for the mouse and human genomes. The primary responsibilities include:
• Review and research project background and status with supervisor.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Become proficient in molecular cloning technologies, like PCR, enzymetic digestion and ligation, transformation, Gibson assembly etc.
• Data analysis and interpretation.
• Present project reviews before colleagues and peers at group meetings.

• Must be an undergraduate student
• Must be pursuing a degree in Biology, especially Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Genetics
• Experience with Miniprep, PCR, Cloning, Bacterial Culture, and in a Molecular laboratory. Also experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
• Must have strong communication skills. Must be able to work with MACs.

• Must be pursuing a degree in a Life Sciences related field
• Previous laboratory experience is preferred but not required, cell culture and western blotting preferred

General Intern Program Information:
• Must be enrolled in, or accepted to, an academic program pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, PhD or PharmD
• Summer Program is full-time (~40 hrs/wk) for at least 10 weeks and is paid
• Prefer demonstrated leadership in areas such as campus activities, clubs, sports or the community
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• You will work with a specific manager on a project(s)
• Enjoy weekly 1 hour Intern Program events: learn about other areas of the company from VPs and other employees, soft skills workshops, networking, volunteering, and more!
• Present to your team on your summer project
