Summary:

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design and delivery of a reliable, scalable, compliant and secure Regeneron global data network. The responsibilities include planning, designing and building the Regeneron network components including WAN, LAN, cloud network infrastructure and network security solutions, in a global scale.
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for collaborating in the development, communication and execution of the Regeneron strategic network roadmap, driving the transformation of the network, as Regeneron expands globally. A successful candidate would have strong network design competencies, with an emphasis on cloud and security aspects, along with excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Design, setup and configure complex Cisco switching and routing solutions with a focus on cloud and on-premise network security including Next-Gen firewalling, IDS, IPS, proxy solutions and application load-balancers.
• Partner with Operations on the execution of the network roadmap and deliver on a seamless transition from design to implementation to run, providing a reliable, secure and consistent client experience for on-premise and cloud based application requirements.
• Design, monitor and continuously improve Regeneron's Cloud Foundation access solutions, including AWS networking products, SaaS access and security requirements, supporting a cloud-first framework.
• Design and continuously refine a secure and reliable global WAN, including efficient and secure remote access solutions for Regeneron associates and partners.
• Design secure network services with compliance (GxP and others) built into components.
• Maintain detailed network documentation to meet GxP requirements and to clearly represent the network detail including developing Runbooks, diagrams and SOP's.
• Liaise with server, storage, application and cloud architects to ensure alignment.
• Drive Network Engineering, solution design review for IT and business related projects adhering to the Regeneron architectural framework, delivering enterprise class solutions.
• Evaluate and identify areas of opportunity within the scope of network technologies including conceptual review, solution proof of concept, build and delivery.
• Identify network trends and opportunities to enhance business performance; provide recommendations to align the engineering strategy to produce efficient operations.
• Monitor emerging networking technologies, analyze and implement when relevant and manage current relationships with 3rd party technology vendors, optimizing vendor value.
• Identify opportunities to automate the network infrastructure solutions and system administration including SDN, IBNS and other automation solutions.
• Develop relationships and maintain visibility into business unit plans enabling the team to deliver on expected network infrastructure requirements.
• Strong communications skills across many concurrent deployments with the ability to communicate details to the project teams and clearly communicate status to management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Provide guidance to contractors and service providers by establishing and communicating work priorities when required.
• Responsible for managing network related projects which includes cross functional team responsibilities.
• Establish and maintains strong vendor relationships ensuring optimal solution results.

Education and Experience:
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related technical field or equivalent practical experience Skills and Experience. CCIE R&S preferred.
• 10+ years of experience with designing and running a global data Network environment.
• Strong experience in on-premise and cloud based network engineering and network security solutions and services with an emphasis on AWS network products.
• Strong experience in private and public cloud designs with an emphasis Strong experience transforming secure network engineering solutions in a rapidly growing organization.
• Experience designing and delivery of a 24x7 global networks to meet business needs.
• Vendor management experience including ensuring vendor solution delivery.
• Experience with regulatory compliance controls are required. GxP and SOX are preferred.
• Experience in operating in a managed services environment and following the ITIL v3 model.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and effectively interact with all levels of management from application developers to the CIO.
• Ability to develop and maintain highly effective relationships, internally and externally.
• Python scripting and Ansible competencies a plus.
