Position Summary

Known for its scientific and operational excellence, Regeneron is a leading science-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, invents, develops, manufactures, and commercializes medicines for the treatment of serious medical conditions. Regeneron commercializes medicines for eye diseases, high LDL-cholesterol, atopic dermatitis and a rare inflammatory condition and has product candidates in development in other areas of high unmet medical need, including rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, pain, cancer and infectious diseases.

Summary
The Oncology and Angiogenesis group at Regeneron is currently seeking a highly motivated scientist candidate with PhD / postdoctoral experience in cancer biology and the tumor microenvironment. In this position, the candidate will have an opportunity to study the role of stromal components (fibroblasts, endothelial cells, extracellular matrix) in different tumor models including patient derived xenografts (PDXs) and clinical specimens.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for conducting complex in vivo and ex vivo tumor studies to dissect the role of the tumor stroma. The scientist will help conduct experiments with in vivo tumor models, including PDX models, analyzing data and helping to integrate in vivo information with the goal of identifying targetable molecules/pathways. The qualified individual will have a strong background (PhD and/or postdoctoral experience) in one or more areas of tumor biology, tumor stroma, extracellular matrix and immuno-oncology with in vivo experience. Expertise with various tumor models (xenograft, syngeneic & GEMM models, monitoring tumor growth, iv, sc, ip, im injections, minor surgeries and necropsy) is required. Experience with in vivo imaging, immunohistochemistry, gene expression profiling including single cell transcriptomics, and flow cytometry are desired. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required as this candidate will be expected to work productively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment. Attention to detail and timelines coupled with an aptitude for learning are also key elements of the position.

Responsibilities
• Independently plan and execute in vitro and in vivo tumor experiments
• Understand, analyze, and interpret various forms of data, including molecular profiling data
• Synthesize results across experiments and programs in PowerPoint presentations
• Present results to senior scientists and management
• Interrogate available PDX models on the role of the tumor stroma
• Tissue processing, sectioning and histology/immunohistochemistry experience is a plus
• Flow cytometry experience is a plus
• Experience in in vivo imaging (bioluminescence and micro-ultrasound) is a plus
• Experimental lab work (in the vivarium and well as the laboratory) will be ~ 60-70% of the job
PhD with 3+ years of experience
Must have Stromal experience
