The successful candidate will be Imaging team's lead in vivo Imaging Scientist. This role will work in close collaboration with scientists from all therapeutic areas, technology teams, and other Imaging scientists to design, execute, supervise, and interpret preclinical in vivo imaging experiments in relevant animal models. Current projects include investigations into fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP), Alzheimer's Disease, atherosclerosis, pulmonary hypertension, myocardial infarction, and tumor studies using patient derived xenografts (PDX) animal models. However, projects are always changing as new ideas and opportunities present themselves.


- Collaborate with directors, research scientists and associates to review project portfolios, evaluate potential applications and design appropriate in vivo imaging strategies with appropriate quantitative endpoints
- Serve as point person to coordinate with and supervise personnel responsible for experiment execution, whether they be collaborators within the company or contract research organizations (CROs) to extend our imaging capabilities or bandwidth.
- Review data and results with collaborators, providing expert interpretation and analyses, designing and supervising followup experiments as necessary
- Stay abreast of novel technologies and methods and integrate new technology as appropriate for our applications
- Collaborate with other senior imaging scientists to collectively address application needs, review internal technology capabilities, and design evaluation projects to address shortcomings
- Prepare clear, concise and communicative presentations and documentation for collaborators, other team members, and senior management


The position requires a PhD in Medical Physics, Bioengineering, Biology, or similar, and five years of relevant experience with preclinical in vivo imaging applications using animal models.

Additional requirements:
- A proven history of independent investigations, innovative thinking, time and effort management, strong interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments
- Past experience in study design, execution, and interpretation of animal models using vivo imaging technologies such as MRI, uCT, PET/CT, US, FMT, BLI, etc.
- 3D visualization and analysis using platforms such as Amira, Analyze, Osirix, VivoQuant, or similar
- Fundamentals of biostatistics
