Position Summary

Known for its scientific and operational excellence, Regeneron is a leading science-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, invents, develops, manufactures, and commercializes medicines for the treatment of serious medical conditions. Regeneron commercializes medicines for eye diseases, high LDL-cholesterol, atopic dermatitis and a rare inflammatory condition and has product candidates in development in other areas of high unmet medical need, including rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, pain, cancer and infectious diseases.

These positions are in Medical Analytics in Tarrytown, NY. There are 2 openings for Summer 2018. Each opening is described below.

Position 1: The student will benefit from exposure to real-world applied problems in the pharmaceutical industry within the Medical Affairs setting, and contribute their knowledge and talent by providing state-of-the-art analytical methodology and statistical and data science programming skills in order to facilitate further understanding and characterization of Regeneron products and promote continued innovations in Medical Affairs Medical Analytics. The student will be engaged in developing new statistical and data science programming methods and applications to address research questions posed by Regeneron Medical Affairs Medical Analytics. This includes complex data processing algorithms, implementation of statistical procedures, development of flexible standard macros, data visualization, etc. Emphasis will be placed on developing reusable, scalable, robust, flexible, meta-data driven analysis programs using SAS starting with defining appropriate input parameters, data standards to outputting usable, interpretable displays and/or other outputs.

Position 2: The student will benefit from exposure to real-world applied problems in the pharmaceutical industry within the Medical Affairs setting, and contribute their knowledge and talent by providing state-of-the-art analytical methodology in order to facilitate further understanding and characterization of Regeneron products and promote continued innovations in Medical Affairs Medical Analytics.

Primarily, the student will be engaged in developing new analytical methods based on statistical questions from Regeneron clinical studies and real world evidence study databases by evaluating new methods proposed in the literature, novel applications of existing methodology, or sensitivity analyses and simulations to determine the robustness of proposed methods. Secondarily, the student will also focus on creating statistical graphics that present complex ideas with clarity, precision, and efficiency to facilitate decision making and innovate display for publication and internal team discussion.

• Must be a graduate or PhD student
• Must be pursuing a degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or Data Science
• Ability to understand CDISC data standards, SDTM & ADAM data structure is a plus

Specifically for Position 1:
• Must be proficient with SAS (including SAS macros and graphics capabilities)
• Must have a solid background and skills in statistical and data science methodologies, tools, and practices
• Must be able to analyze statistical questions, proactively propose creative solutions, use sound judgment and innovate
• Must be able to collaborate effectively with mentor and colleagues within the Regeneron Medical Affairs organization

Specifically for Position 2:
• Must have strong background in statistical methodologies, tools and practices. Must be proficient with information display via SAS graphics.
• Must be able to analyze statistical questions presented, generate creative solutions, use sound judgment and be innovative.
• Must have an In-depth understanding of intrinsic/cohesive link between layers of information and dynamic graphic display for various types of endpoints. Must be able to collaborate effectively with mentor and colleagues within the Regeneron Medical Affairs organization.

General Intern Program Information:
• Must be enrolled in, or accepted to, an academic program pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, PhD or PharmD
• Summer Program is full-time (~40 hrs/wk) for at least 10 weeks and is paid
• Prefer demonstrated leadership in areas such as campus activities, clubs, sports or the community
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• You will work with a specific manager on a project(s)
• Enjoy weekly 1 hour Intern Program events: learn about other areas of the company from VPs and other employees, soft skills workshops, networking, volunteering, and more!
• Present to your team on your summer project
