Position Summary

The Associate Director/Director is responsible to provide commercial input to the development team for assigned assets. In addition the associate director/director is accountable for providing strategic leadership and cross-functional direction to successfully drive the global commercialization activities for assigned assets. The role may include assets in multiple Therapeutic Areas.

1. Lead the global commercial development and execution of strategy for assigned assets including optimizing the commercial value of the indication, as well as future indications by developing global launch plans, long-term disease strategy and revenue forecasts.
2. Provide strategic leadership to the cross functional team, as well as represent the commercial perspective on the development teams.
3. Provide commercial direction and decision making at all stages of development; including proposed markets, positioning, forecasting, pricing strategies, Phase II/III/IV projects, life-cycle management, pediatric development and scientific / promotional communications.
4. Develop and manage annual budgets, long range plans and determining the best allocation of global resources for the brand/indication.
5. Works with legal, regulatory, medical affairs, corporate communications, clinical development, & translational medicine to ensure global alignment of the proposed strategy.
6. Work with Market Access and HEOR to develop differentiation strategies and compelling value proposition to secure appropriate market access.

• Must demonstrate ability to lead strategically, drive performance, build alignment, inform, negotiate, and collaborate
• Strong science background with deep knowledge of various disease areas. A plus if previous experiences in immunology/inflammation, cardiovascular and infectious disease.
• Ability to understand, work with, and provide commercial input to all functions within the project team.
• Effective communication, both written and oral, at all times. Experience in delivering complex messages to various internal and external customers with a track record of effective and influential presentations.
• Strong executive presence and ability to communicate with senior leadership both internally and externally.
• Demonstrated initiative, creativity, strategic capabilities, and ability to work effectively in complex, rapidly changing environments.
• Strong project and process management skills, along with the ability to work on multiple tasks, and to effectively prioritize.
• Must be able to conceptualize and articulate a vision for self and brand that energizes all functional areas and stakeholders.
• Proven team player with ability to navigate cross functionally.
• Ability to interact with, influence and provide direction to multiple functions as part of the global disease team.
• Proven ability to lead direct reports.
• Lead full cross-functional commercialization team, (marketing, market research, market access, forecasting, commercial operations, strategic intelligence, medical affairs, HEOR, finance, product communications, and regulatory).
• Strong analytical skills both quantitative and qualitative.
• Proven success within strategic alliances.
• Bachelor's Degree Required, MBA preferred.
• Director level candidate – At least 12 years of biopharmaceutical experience with at least 10 years in Marketing;
• Biotechnology experience preferred
• US and Global biopharmaceutical marketing experience required
• Previous product/indication launch experience required.
• Previous experience in marketing/new products marketing leadership role required
• Sales and sales management experience preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of commercial success in positions with progressive responsibilities.
• Previous experience with successful partnerships with both R&D and Commercial.
