Oncology is a key therapeutic area for AbbVie, with a portfolio consisting of three marketed products — Imbruvica, Venclexta, and Empliciti — and a pipeline containing multiple promising new molecules that are being studied in nearly 200 clinical trials in 19 different types of cancer.

AbbVie is expanding its oncology hub on the West Coast, with three sites in the San Francisco Bay Area (Redwood City, South San Francisco, and Sunnyvale) focused the discovery and development of novel oncology therapies. More than 1,000 AbbVie scientists, clinicians, and product developers with strong entrepreneurial roots wor across these three sites. They combine their expertise in immuno-oncology, stem cells, and cell-signaling with their knowledge of bispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and covalent-inhibitor technologies to discover and develop novel cancer treatments. This position is based at Stemcentrx, AbbVie's South San Francisco, CA location.

Senior Manager, IT Description:

Develop and manage technology roadmaps for Stemcentrx manufacturing and quality systems. Manage the creation and development of the overall IT portfolio for AbbVie west coast sites. Manage local IT staff that are responsible for developing, executing and managing IT projects within the portfolio. Create and maintain influential relationships with senior business management. Manage constraints of human and financial resources and changing business priorities to ensure the success of west coast business partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing technology roadmaps for manufacturing and quality systems.

• Responsible for managing the overall IT portfolio in conjunction with each site's application management team.

• Manages each site's application management team's IT project delivery.

• Works with senior business management to guide decisions on portfolio management, project scoping and project prioritization.


• Bachelor's Degree. Degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline preferred

• 12+ years of experience in information technology, with a minimum of 9 years managing IT delivery teams and IT portfolios, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

• Experience with Pharmaceutical manufacturing or laboratory systems such as historians, PLCs, LIMS, MES, calibration management, environmental monitoring, templates and other manufacturing-oriented computerized capabilities.

• Experience with implementing GMP systems and performing GXP systems validation.
