General Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Outsourcing (Process Expert), the Clinical Outsourcing Associate II will be responsible for the business needs of department/group, with an emphasis the submission of contract and purchase requests to the relevant IT system. As such, the Clinical Outsourcing Associate II will interface daily with internal stakeholders (such as the study teams, Clinical Outsourcing Vendor Management Team, Clinical Outsourcing Site Budgets Team, FP&A, Procurement, and Legal) to facilitate contract submissions, answer any questions that arise during negotiation, approval, execution, and maintenance. This role requires the Clinical Outsourcing Associate II to be detailed oriented and able to work well in a fast-paced, volume-driven environment.

The Clinical Outsourcing Associate II will work closely with the relevant parties in the business, and will be the individual responsible for the submission of contract requests to the Apttus system. This role will facilitate new vendor set up in BuySmart as needed. This role could potentially be responsible for PO submissions via AX.

Core Tasks:

Primarily responsible for the submission of contract requests and purchase orders to the relevant systems. To accomplish this, the Clinical Outsourcing Contracts Associate I will:

    Shadows senior team members with contracts management responsibilities Reviews submission packets to ensure required elements are included Submitting contracts into the Apttus contract management system Tracks submitted contracts in Apttus and provide regular contract status updates to the study's lead Contract Administrator and participate in proactively informing business submitters of status Set up new vendors in BuySmart as needed May partner with Operations Excellence to identify any necessary modifications to databases and/or systems Have detailed knowledge of Apttus and its reporting functions Generate customized reports using Apttus to provide the department/group with data around contract metrics Perform additional responsibilities as required
Requirements:

    4 year college degree with BA/BS in Life Science, Finance, Business Strategy, or related field 3+ years relevant experience desired; with 1 year of contracts management experience Introductory proficiency with contract management and tracking and have finance, legal and business acumen. Basic knowledge of Clinical Trial Process and the various key players involved in running clinical trials highly desired Excellent computer skills and aptitude for learning new systems; experience with Apttus and AX a plus Excellent written and verbal skills Proactive self starter - takes initiative beyond expectations Ability to manage a changing environment and conflicting needs successfully Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple, complex projects at a rapid pace
