We're seeking a seasoned program or project manager from the biotech, pharma, or chemical industry who has held project management specific titles for at least 8 years and whose project leadership experience includes leading scale-up of a novel bioprocess or chemical process.  This project leader will "herd cates" by integrating multidisciplinary and multi-site bioprocessing activities applying advanced usage of project management software, project-progress tools (such as Gantt charts) to keep all project contributors and stakeholders well informed of project timelines, milestones, issues, achievements, etc. Will report to VP level. 


This challenging, high-visibility role is for a San Francisco East Bay biotech company that’s focused on sustainability and profitability by converting common substances into commercially viable consumer products using bio-based conversion-technologies and scale up processes.


An operational and technical program leadership role for a well-seasoned project manager (with the afore mentioned biotech, pharma, or chemical industry experience) to oversee biochemical conversion activities and scale-up processes from lab to pilot scale and eventual commercial scale. As project manager, will direct operational and technical activities. Will define, plan, implement, and report on project goals and deliverables. Will maintain ongoing communication, guidance, and collaboration with internal and external cross-functional team members.  Will apply advanced communication skills to keep all contributors engaged, motivated, and well-aligned. Will utilize project management software tools to maintain detailed oversight of all moving parts and to generate cogent reports, Gantt Charts, grafts, etc. and other tracking and presentation tools a.) to optimize scale-up coordination, communication, and resource management and b,) to keep all project team members, partners, and stakeholders well informed.


A project management trackrecord that includes speaking the language of chemical engineers as exemplified a) by having held project manager-specific titles for 8+ years and b.) by having overseen the scale-up of a novel bioprocess or chemical process. 

A project management record that has entailed planning, overseeing, and reporting on bioprocessing or chemical processing conversion technologies or scale up processes.

Proven ability to coordinate technical and operational moving parts and various functional areas keeping all contributors and stakeholders well informed and in alignment to maintain a cohesive effort and to achieve defined deliverables.

Successful track record informing and updating senior leadership and other project stakeholders through cogent presentations, reports, Gantt Charts, etc. for optimal project coordination, communication and resource management.

Strong technical basis in chemical or bioprocess engineering, MSProject and Gantt-chart usage expertise, and exceptional organization, communication, and collaboration skills.

PMP a plus, but not essential.
