Regeneron is seeking an experienced, motivated research associate to join our team of scientists in the Velocigene division. Using cutting edge methods to generate genetically modified mouse and rat ES cells, and human iPS cells, the Velocigene technology platform gives Regeneron unprecedented speed and capacity for the validation of therapeutic targets and the creation of new genetically engineered models of human disease. The research associate will be a key member of the ES cell engineering pipeline.

S/he should be a team player able to work in a fast-paced research environment with regular interactions with scientists across the organization in various departments. They are expected to work collaboratively, be meticulous and organized while working, and have strong communication skills. The ideal candidate would have experience developing robotic automation of cell culture procedures and an innate drive toward innovation and improving processes.

• Pluripotent stem cell engineering including electroporation, clone isolation, expansion, and cryopreservation.
• Optimize and implement robotic automation solutions into the ES cell engineering pipeline.
• Propose and develop new methods or technology innovations that enhance our discovery capabilities.
• Interact on a regular basis with high level Scientists to accomplish research goals.
• Contribute to lab upkeep to help maintain an effective and efficient working environment.
• Communicate experimental results and conclusions to Sr. management and during group meetings.

• This position requires minimum of 3 years of hands on experience growing ES and/or iPS cells.
• Creative thinker, with the ability to troubleshoot and focus on continued process improvement.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Dedication to team work is essential.

Level will be commensurate with experience. However, the ideal candidate would have a Bachelors degree and 5 plus years of post-degree laboratory experience or a Masters degree and 2 plus years of post-degree laboratory experience. Experience with current molecular biology techniques, bioinformatics software and automation platforms are a plus.
