The Revenue & Inventory Accounting Manager will help manage the overall accounting and processes related to revenue, accounts receivable, cost of goods sold and accruals. He/she will support the creation, implementation and management of the Company's sales, receivable, inventory and cost accounting processes, policies and documentation as it transitions for commercialization, including involvement in the implementation and maintenance of a new ERP system. Particularly upon commercialization, this position will be responsible for managing the accounting for revenue, receivable, inventory accounting, cost of sales accounting and other supply chain processes ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements. This includes responsibility for revenue and receivable reconciliation, gross to net analysis, inventory reconciliation, inventory cost validation, P&L analysis and reporting. He/she will work cross-functionally with internal colleagues, particularly with our supply chain and commercial operations team, our third-party logistics provider and will interact directly with our external auditors to facilitate quarterly and annual reviews and work with external business partners. 


Revenues and Receivable:

  • Performance of monthly close for revenue, including routine and non-routine journal entries, adjustments related to sales, gross-to-net adjustments and accounts receivable and preparation of financial reports
  • Accounting and analysis around Accounts Receivable and Revenue related transactions
  • Liaise with third party logistics provider and with the internal commercial team relative to sales matters, including sales and inventory reporting and charge-backs
  • Work extensively with third party provider on gross to net analysis, product pricing analysis, government pricing and review of Medicare/Medicaid claims
  • Billing and collections for non-product related revenues
  • Oversee and participate in the analysis of accounts and credit worthiness for customer accounts
  • Perform various functions within the Rigel 3PL model as they relate to revenue, receivable, inventory and cost of goods sold, including contract reviews, data analysis from various sources and periodic reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with key controls and new ASC 606 accounting for revenues
  • Help the technical accounting function research and write accounting memos and business process documentation
  • Assist with accounting reviews, audits and documentation for SEC Reporting
  • Complete special projects as needed and perform other duties as required


  • Develop and maintain all analysis and subledgers to support inventory and cost of sales accounting
  • Work collaboratively with the finance team, supply chain and sales operations to ensure all aspects within inventory are captured completely and accurately
  • Maintain all monthly and quarterly journal entries and all documentation to support SOX and audit requirements
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliation for various inventory accruals and prepaid accounts
  • ssist and support supply chain team with physical count reconciliations and inventory count adjustments 
  • Participate in inventory counts and perform monthly general ledger reconciliations
  • Develop and issue monthly, quarterly and year-to-date reporting in support of cost of sales analyses which will serve as the basis for forecasting 
  • Collaborating with our supply chain team to establish standard costs and provide periodic reporting to compare to actual production costs 
  • Tracking changes in supplies, raw materials, API and finished product to determine proper costing of products and inventories
  • Analyze inventory on-hand to quantify the quarterly inventory reserve balance
  • Prepare inventory schedules for external auditors
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects related to future and historical inventory transactions



  • Minimum B.S. / B.A. in accounting or finance; CPA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting / financial role, including revenue reporting and inventory accounting in a pharmaceutical company
  • Prior pharmaceutical experience preferred
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with SAP and Adaptive Insights preferred
