• Responsible for the introducing and seeding PacBio’s technologies & solutions to the target markets in EMEA. thereby raising PacBio’s profile and promoting market awareness/visibility and creating opportunities in the medium to long term
• Be required to penetrate scientific networks, funding bodies, consortia and initiatives that are within the domain of addressable markets identified by PacBio. Can identify and contact key influencers and stakeholders. This will include presenting at events and forums to broaden our market reach
• Aid in the generation of reference sites in emerging applications / market areas (such as within the translational / clinical / LDT community). The aim being these reference sites would support our commercial activities through posters/presentations as well as potential PR
• The role requires the incumbent to work closely in partnership with the 
o EMEA leadership team to define strategies specific to local markets and funding mechanisms
o EMEA Sales Team and Field Marketing Manager 
 Sales Pipeline Support – ‘Hand off’ opportunities to the sales team at the appropriate stages and provide tools to support closing of sales
 Coordinate with the Field Marketing Function on positioning of our offering in downstream campaigns that may be required from business development activities
o Global Marketing, R&D leadership and business leadership to implement strategic applications as appropriate

• Feeds back into the marketing organization, key market and customer and competitive intelligence to           validate and / or evolve tactical plans and contribute to forward looking strategy
• Oversees the prioritization of any strategic collaborations with key influencers in EMEA region within the market aimed at results that will help further market development and to realize business
• Fosters a collaborative team spirit approach working closely with all commercial functions across PacBio globally
• Success will be measured by: Business momentum as reflected by ‘orders rate’ (for both instruments and consumables), new collaborations, penetration of European initiatives, medium to long term pipeline development


• A minimum BSc degree with a solid technical grounding in Molecular Biology or Genomics
• A minimum of 5 years’ Pan European commercial experience in the Life Science Genomics market. In particular, in-depth knowledge of Genetics Analysis (technology, applications, market)
• Evidence of high level of skill as required to introduce concepts/technologies successfully into a market
• Superior command of English (written & oral) such that able to communicate effectively and present in small to large audience setting
• Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills
• Ability to demonstrate scientific competence under pressure
• Ability to travel 50-60% of the time. This likely to fluctuate depending on the requirements of the business
• Have in depth knowledge of key influencers, networks and researchers within the relevant market space for PacBio
• Proven ability to work remotely but needs to be able to stay connected to the local team
• The role will be a home office based function but it is essential for the successful candidate to be located within reasonable reach of a well-connected airport
