Purpose:


This position will be responsible for developing architecture, strategies, standards and guidelines for technologies and solutions in the architecture domain work on solutions supporting the expense, travel and fleet functions. This role also directs and manages architecture development, review and approval processes and integration with other applicable organizational process and ensures proper functioning and alignment within Finance BTO.
This role proactively demonstrates leadership by advising and sharing knowledge and expert opinions with subordinates, peers and senior management. This role will consult with business leaders and representatives to ensue understanding of the business requirements and future strategic direction of the supported businesses, resulting in defining architecture and overseeing execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with requirements, technology industry standards, application technology roadmap and business needs.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Research emerging technologies and solutions to solve complex business problems.
  • Evaluate and recommend new software, utilities, and tools.
  • Generate high quality artifacts such as architectural and capabilities roadmaps, requirements, high level and detailed designs and deployment plans.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable AbbVie Policies and procedures.
  • Refine conceptual system requirements into a technical design consisting of job flows and program specifications.
  • Understand clients' business objectives and system requirements working closely with the business.
  • Applies analytical thinking skills to diagnose and make recommendations on systems, incorporating knowledge of business and technology to make recommendations.
  • Assists with the testing strategies and develops preliminary findings.
  • Ability to work independently and to quickly diagnose and solve technical problems.
  • Works effectively with team/group to accomplish organizational goals. Actively participates in client or team meetings. Provides leadership to project planning.
  • Manages projects according to milestones and completes tasks.
  • Exercises latitude in approach to problem and solution.
  • Directs work of technical, programming support and less experienced staff.
Qualifications

Basic:

  • Required: Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Required: Minimum of 7 years of experience including 5 years hands on system development, configuration, implementation and support.
  • Required: Minimum 3 years of experience in designing and implementing integration solutions.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Pharmaceutical industry. Advanced knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Preferred: Technologies/Working Knowledge: Web Service integration; database solutions e.g. oracle, Microsoft SQL Server; JavaScript, Data Modeling, SaaS models with interfaces; UNIX/Linux and Windows environment.
  • Preferred: ITIL Foundation Certification.
  • Preferred: ITIL Intermediate Planning, Protection and Optimization Certification.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of applicable regulation and financial standards (SOX) affecting Pharmaceutical Products (e.g. 21 CFR Part 11, Annex11, cGMP)
  • Required: Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills.
  • Preferred: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Effective communication and persuading Business and IT Leaders.
  • Required: Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Preferred: Strong problem resolution skills
