Description THE COMPANY STRATEGY: Depomed has a clear THREE PILLAR strategy for growth: MAINTAIN a strong/profitable NUCYNTA franchise through a commercialization agreement with Collegium, GROW the Neurology and Pain Business and BUILD a new Specialty Business through a recent Cosyntropin transaction. The company's strategy is to continue to identify, license and develop new products-that offer enhanced therapeutic options to patient populations that may be underserved by existing therapies. As part of the transformation strategy, Depomed will be relocating its headquarters out of California. Information about location will be shared during the interview process. THE OPPORTUNITY The Samples & Fleet Operations Manager/Sr. Manager is responsible for the Sample Compliance program under the PDMA guidelines to ensure FDA compliance leading the commercial efforts of sampling through personal and non-personal promotion. The Manager/Sr. Manager is also responsible for all Depomed fleet operations and administration of the Fleet Policy to ensure the efficient and economical use of company-owned or company-leased vehicles. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS SAMPLES & FLEET
  • Manage and continuously improve sample operations for optimal financial and operational performance
  • Partner with brand managers to provide compliance feedback and budget management.
  • Recommend sample shipment quantities at the territory level based on run rates, physician need and return on investment analysis
  • Ensure that field-based and internal department actions are in compliance with PDMA governing regulations
  • Work with Compliance to ensure that Depomed complies with federal (Sunshine Act) and state law reporting requirements impacting interactions with Health Care Professionals (HCPs) and Health Care Organizations (HCOs) as it relates to samples.
  • Manage a non-personal campaign that effectively engages HCPs with Depomed promotional materials
  • Partner with manufacturing and finance team(s) to develop an accurate sample forecast
  • Maintain diligent adherence to budgeted financial and operating metrics, including accurate sample forecast, diagnoses of past variances and forecasts of potential upcoming issues and opportunities
  • Keeps up to date with legislation, rulings and other developments that affect sample operations
  • Manage and continuously improve fleet operations for optimal financial and operational performance
  • Purchase and disposal of the vehicles
  • Keeps up to date with legislation, rulings and other developments that affect fleet operations and maintains familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
  • Assist Depomed by maintaining fleet safety operations and cost containment strategies to maximize field employee productivity as it relates to fleet.
  • Insurance policy coordination with internal stakeholders
  • Work with internal stakeholders and vendors to coordinate fleet needs due to accidents, violations, and other fleet related incidents.
  • Manage sample compliance program execution, including live and Web based training
  • Manage sample DTP Program to effectively sample HCPs through non representative channels (i.e. web, fax back, etc) Reporting and Analysis
  • Routinely review reports, metrics and trends to detect possible drug diversion and significant losses of drug samples.
  • Monitors, tracks and reports all sample thefts, falsifications, and loss activities in compliance with FDA requirements.
  • Conduct ad-hoc investigations where sample discrepancies exist and report findings to the Sample Compliance Committee within the allowable FDA requirements
  • Perform monthly audits of sample-related data, and work with compliance to monitor prescriber signature verification programs, providing required follow-up.
  • Analyze and determine vehicles on when they should be repaired, to maintain car condition and resale value
  • Create and manage reporting mechanisms to support company policies
  • Prepare and maintain various reporting mechanisms which support the Fleet Department including, but not limited to, Fuel Usage Program, Telematics, and Asset Utilization.
  • Monitor and analyze data to ensure employees are adhering to established Depomed policies and State and local laws.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 5 to 7 + years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related fields
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in sales/marketing analysis, statistical analysis, data quality control, or advanced reporting, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  • Must have an understanding of databases and PDMA requirements
  • Requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to analyze and QC data from multiple sources and communicate findings in a clear and organized manner
  • High level resourcefulness and problem solving skills under pressure are critical to this role
  • Financial management skills
  • Must have strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of relevant software systems (e.g., Access, Excel, salesforce.com, MS Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong vendor management experience preferred
  • Must be knowledgeable of business intelligence systems, their application within the biopharmaceutical industry, and how various systems communicate with one another
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with the internal tem and external vendors
  • Previous contract management coupled with superior analytical skills and financial savvy.
