We are currently looking to hire a Research Associate I. The ideal candidate will work as a member if a team to investigate mechanisms of neurodegenerative disease and develop therapeutics. The main responsibilities will include:

  • Culturing iPSCs
  • Differentiation of iPSCs into neurons
  • Immunocytochemistry, DNA isolation
  • Transfections, imaging and analysis
  • In collaboration with supervisor, design, implement and troubleshoot experiments
  • Communication of original finding in the form of presentations
  • Routine laboratory management (supply ordering, maintenance, and upkeep)
  • Must be available for limited work some weekends
  • BS in a field of Biological Sciences
  • In depth knowledge of neurobiology, cell biology, and molecular biology


  • At least 1-2 years of tissue culture experience with excellent aseptic technique (preferred)
  • Experience with manipulating cells (e.g. transfecting and imaging cells)
  • Highly organized with excellent communication skills

Experience preferred:

  • At least 1 year of human iPS cell culture experience
  • Microscopy and the use of image analysis software
