Scientist, Organic Chemistry
Seattle Genetics seeks a highly motivated and creative scientist to join the chemistry research group and assist in developing innovative technologies to advance antibody-based therapeutics. This position requires a high level of technical competence in synthetic organic chemistry, including experience in the multistep synthesis of complex molecules, synthetic chemistry method development, and/or medicinal chemistry. Research focus for this position is at the interface of organic chemistry, macromolecular drug delivery and cancer biology, and a keen interest in these research areas is required. The successful candidate will work with a high degree of independence, but will also be required to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team toward the development of effective cancer therapies.
Design and synthesis of novel linkers, evaluation of new payloads, and the discovery of novel technologies to improve the effectiveness of antibody-based therapies for treating cancer.
- A PhD in organic chemistry with a strong record of accomplishments, innovation, and publications
- Experience preferably in biotechnology, targeted drug delivery, or cancer-related fields
- Ability to think critically and communicate results effectively
- Creativity, a willingness to make significant contributions from the laboratory, and ability to work both independently and as a team player
