Provides in-depth technical expertise & direction in the development and support of client area application systems/programming requirements and processes (e.g. new, enhancements or maintenance), in the preparation of application system specifications, and in the development, testing, and implementation of efficient, cost effective application solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Serve as technical expert or lead projects/programs and technical staff to develop, test and implement significant new products, or operational improvements or devise new approaches to problems at the division/business unit.
  • Conduct investigation activity/research and give technical advice to the adoption or integration of new technologies and their business impact.
  • Lead in the development of standards and procedures and publish/communicate findings via IOI's, presentations, SOPs, etc.
  • Review, validate & enhance design, conduct performance monitoring and capacity planning; install, test and upgrade releases and associated products.
  • Evaluate & recommend new software, utilities, and tools.
  • Set the strategy for implementing new technologies.
  • In specialized systems effectively set options to change the way the program works (configuration responsibilities).
  • Accountable for total project scope, budget, completion within budget constraints and schedules completion date. Accountable for successful and timely completion of all tasks/projects under direct and matrix control. Post completion audit of project after implementation to verify expected benefits vs. costs, both development and operating. Project success is critical to the continued business success of the corporation.Develop, manage and test code for new enhancements, bug fixes, and customizations
  • Create, execute and oversee execution of development code reviews, unit test cases and test scripts
  • Create and maintain technical documentation: impact analysis, design documents, technical requirements, IT procedures, SIQ (software installation qualification)
  • Develop and support client and internal reporting requirements and systems
  • Support business acceptance testing and system validation activities.
  • Primary as liaison between the business, infrastructure and IT support groups to coordinate upgrades, enhancements, provide integration and resolve issues.

Qualifications:



Four-year degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science or Computer engineering. Equivalent experience is defined as six years combined experience in the above areas.

5-8 years of combined experience in Information Technology, Computer Science or Computer engineering (in addition to equivalent experience listed above, if applicable).


Technical Requirements:

  • At least seven to ten years of development and support experience with industry standard Laboratory systems. Chromatography CDS and Laboratory Information Management Systems LIMS experience strongly desired.
  • At least 10 years experience in a variety of IT roles including technical, application development, business systems, and data management.
  • Established experience in Service development, compute engineering, automation, orchestration, architecture and implementation including experience with SW and HW components, networking, imaging and operating systems for servers and building desktops in Windows Environments
  • Defines architecture and oversees execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with requirements, technology industry standards, application technology roadmap, and business needs. Researches emerging technologies and solutions to solve complex business problems. Proposes and maintains reference architecture.
  • Expertise in performing upgrades and analyze and troubleshoot issues that arise during development or testing.
  • Write/update documentation in accordance with software validation life cycle procedures.
  • Ability to work directly and collaboratively with Business Analysts, Systems Analysts, Quality Assurance (QA) test teams to identify and troubleshoot issues to final resolution
  • Experience with relational database design and development in a RDBMS such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Ability to work with a high degree of independence and the ability to quickly diagnose and solve technical problems
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize new tools, technologies and techniques
  • Understanding of laboratory policies, procedures, methods, processes, and general laboratory concepts , GLP, GxP
  • Knowledge and experience in developing solutions compliant with regulatory and legal requirements within the Pharmaceutical Industry is a plus
  • Identifies problems and issues affecting multiple areas and facilitates their resolution. Effectively anticipates and evaluates impacts of problem solutions that affect multiple areas within the application. Leads and coordinates efforts of hardware, network and database architects in application design and implementation. Aware of and applies industry standard problem-solving tools and techniques appropriate to area of specialization
