The IT Infrastructure Manager - Video and Conferencing Solutions is responsible for the enterprise-level architecture, design and implementation for all video, tele-presence, IM and conference calling services globally. Video and Conference Calling Solutions include: Cisco video infrastructure on premise and CMR Cloud; Cisco tele-presence endpoints; Cisco Jabber IM and Video integration; Cisco WebEx conferencing; Cisco Spark collaboration. Additionally, staff reporting to this position provides level 4 engineering escalation.
In addition to broad AbbVie management responsibilities, additional responsibilities specific to this role are:
  • Engagement and thought leadership in the development of mission, vision, goals and strategy to deliver for video, tele-presence, IM and conference calling solutions globally: including 20,000 conference calling and IM clients, infrastructure across three global data centers and 750+ end-point tele-presence devices.
  • Development of the roadmap and implementation strategy for Unified Communication services globally.
  • R&D and integration of new, innovative market place products including next generation solutions, services and capabilities.
  • Unified Communication strategy thought leadership and development including soft phone capabilities.
  • Vendor and carrier management for video and conferencing engineering and operational support managed services.
  • Participation in the development of multi-million dollar RFI's and RFP's for video and conferencing products, services and support.
  • Leads a team of 4-6 FTE and/or contractors and heavily interacts with managed service providers on a frequent basis.
  • Works in a matrixed environment with peer leaders in the Unified Communications space to ensure all demand is managed, delivery is consistent and operational transition is fluid.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with Operations, IUX Release Management, Project Management Office and BTO's to ensure quality delivery and adoption of services.
  • Expected to develop, manage and forecast a budget in excess of $5MM annually with frequent accountability and reporting to senior and executive leadership.

Qualifications: Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, preferably in an engineering discipline.
  • 12-15+ years proven track record of strong management and budget experience.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional works teams toward task completion.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem resolution skills.
  • Video and Conferencing technologies experience, or equivalent.
  • Experience working in regulated industries (such as Pharmaceuticals or Finance) highly desirable.
  • Experience with the following Video and Conferencing enterprise solutions, or equivalent:
    • WebEx - ResPlus, CCA and Centers - including integration with Microsoft Outlook
    • Cisco Jabber IM - including integration with Microsoft Outlook
    • Cisco CMR Cloud
    • Cisco telepresence end-point hardware - Models SX/DX
    • PolyCom telepresence devices
    • Cisco Spark Collaboration
    • eWhiteboard collaboration
    • Cisco/Avaya/Skype softphone background or implementation experience
    • O365 Skype online
