The Launch Capabilities Senior Manger partners with Integrated Brand Team (IBT) Leaders to deliver launch capabilities, transfer launch learnings, and drive efficiencies in launch planning and execution. The Senior Manager provides analytical and operational support to the IBT Leaders, translates best practices from previous launches, and supplies business direction to the functional teams across Commercial Analytics and Operations (CA&O) to ensure appropriate operational launch planning and execution. Role requires the ability to understand the launch environment and associated business needs, and then translate these to workable solutions. The position reports into the Director, US Launch Capabilities. Key Responsibilities include:
  • Partners with IBT organization to understand key business needs while working to identify and apply existing launch capabilities, where appropriate, to drive efficient launch planning
  • Collaborates with CA&O Subject Matter Experts to outline timelines and resource needs to ensure effective operational launch planning steps and execution
  • Helps connect marketing initiatives across CA&O to ensure there is an integrated approach and common voice back to the business. Helps package solutions, as appropriate, for the launch brand teams
  • Partners with other functional areas (Managed Healthcare, IT, CA&O, etc.) to anticipate hurdles in launch plans and looks for enterprise approaches (where appropriate) to drive greater efficiencies across launch teams
  • Provides strong subject matter and technical knowledge to the franchise as a strategic partner for all initiatives/activities/processes regarding launch planning and execution
  • Operates as an extended marketing team resource in early launch planning stages to help drive key aspects of the launch plan while other marketing team members are being on boarded
  • Participates in franchise business updates to stay current on the state of business
  • Possesses a broad understanding of overall commercial business, structure, and priorities and proactively sets plans to meet evolving business needs
  • Shares best practices of implementation from one launch team to the next to ensure we build on successes and don't re-invent the wheel. Institutionalizes launch learnings for others to capitalize on
  • Acts as a consultative, collaborative CA&O partner for the business to help remove operational roadblocks and create business efficiencies
  • Understands key CA&O objectives and departments and their contributions to launch prep including how/when these capabilities should begin and be leveraged by the franchise
  • Looks for opportunities to drive marketing process improvements and collaborates with the “It's About Time” team to prioritize Home Office implementation efforts

Preferred Qualifications:

· 6+ years' experience in marketing or related function, product launch experience preferred: 3+ years in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry

· Experience developing and driving initiatives that are directly and clearly aligned to stated strategies

· Excellent organization, project management, and leadership skills Demonstrated ability to network and partner effectively across functional areas

· Expertise in leading complex projects and work teams in a matrix environment

· Team orientation; naturally considers what cross-functional partners need to know or can provide

· Succeeds in a fluid and at times, ambiguous environment

· Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

· Ensures adherence to all corporate and divisional compliance policies and guidelines within assigned geographies


· Bachelor's Degree

· MBA or Masters preferred
