Business Technology Solutions Consultant for Immunology and Oncology Patient Services is responsible to proactively understand the business strategic and tactical priorities, conceptualize technology solution needs to enable business vision, define the technology solution to implement the business needs, lead the execution and implementation of technology solution.

Business Technology Solutions Consultant will provide technology leadership in the areas associated with project planning, requirements, architecture, development, delivery, and operations of the Technology Solutions. Business Technology Solutions Consultant will stay on top of technology trends and perform the required technical research and due diligence when necessary to recommend the use of new technology capabilities, balancing opportunities for innovation, business benefits, existing IT standards, and IT roadmaps. This position will be responsible for planning and overseeing a portfolio of technology projects from ideation to completion, including securing alignment on project scope, benefits, cost, and timeline. Business Technology Solutions Consultant will manage vendors, contracts, assesses technical feasibility to make solution recommendations, translates business requirements into functional requirements, performs business process modeling, adopts SDLC process to deliver technology solutions in compliance with AbbVie policies.

Business Technology Solutions Consultant will lead the technology governance across all brand patient services within AbbVie to ensure solutions are built as reusable components, common business problems across brands/franchises are addressed with reusable solutions, lead data governance to ensure trusted patient data is maintained within Patient Services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works directly with business clients to understand specific business processes, business drivers and business strategy within Patient Services, identifies and communicates resulting needs and opportunities for systems or business process improvement that can be enabled via technology
  • Investigates and understands capabilities of existing systems and technologies already in use across the patient services and other organizations within AbbVie to deliver the expected solution to solve the business needs.
  • Identifies needs to build new systems, define the success criteria and ROI for the system, leads the development of the system that will become an integrated part of the business strategy
  • Responsible for compliance with SDLC, HIPAA, Marketing and OCE policies as applicable
  • Identifies current and emerging business needs and evaluates alternative IT solutions using standard information systems methodologies and best practices.
  • Proactively seeks out strategic business opportunities for the application of new or existing IT capabilities
  • Ensure that systems are architected in a way that results in technology synergies and simplified integration to help manage multi-vendor relationships and Data Integrations.
  • Lead the team of Project Managers, Architects, Business Systems Analysts, and Programmers to deliver technology projects. Has defined authority and responsibility for a significant area of work, including technical, financial and quality aspects. Establishes organizational objectives and delegates assignments. Accountable for actions and decisions taken by self and subordinates.
  • Accountable for the accuracy of the fit of the proposed business process improvements and the technical solution to the business needs and the information upon which the business justification and prioritization decisions are made. Also accountable for communicating the business need and drivers to development groups to assure the implementation phase can fulfill the business need.
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as enterprise applications, Quality assurance, enterprise architecture to deliver technology solutions.
  • Lead the service governance across all brand Patient services within AbbVie to assist them with leveraging existing solutions to solve their business needs.
  • Work with minimal oversight; deliverables and relationships are monitored through periodic reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of work experience including business analysis, project management, portfolio management, and strategic planning.
Skills/Experience Requirements

  • Experience in delivering technology solutions such as web applications, mobile applications, data warehousing solutions. Possess good understanding of Microsoft .NET Technology framework, SQL Server, database design and development, Enterprise application integration framework.
  • Experience in waterfall and agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience in leading large teams (direct reports and contractors) consisting of PM, BSA, Development and QA teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to building trust, listen, and ask effective questions.
  • Innovative thinking and the ability to leverage past experience to be successful in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Interest in technology trends and application of technology to improve end user's experience.
  • Proven track record of effective project leadership and positive results.
  • Ability to self-manage time and priorities.
  • Strong analysis and analytical skills.
  • Understands the pharmaceutical market including role of providers, patients, payers, distributors and policy makers.

Preferred

  • Masters in Information Systems, MBA, or Biomedical / Health Informatics
  • Healthcare and / or Biopharmaceutical experience
  • Working knowledge of IT pricing and contracting practices.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Strong Data Management and Data Modeling experience
  • Patient Services and Patient Care Models experience
  • Big data technology landscape
