Seeking a cell culture/expression scientist to actively contribute to medium to pilot-scale protein expression activities in a centralized facility. Applicant should be proficient in mammalian (HEK and CHO) and insect/baculovirus expression technologies and should have previous experience working on bioreactor process optimization. Wave Bioreactor experience would be beneficial. Candidate should be skilled in transient transfection of HEK and CHO cells for both intracellular and secreted protein expression, virus generation, SDS-PAGE, Western analysis, ELISA, flow cytometry, and microscopy. Molecular biology experience (clone design, synthesis, and characterization) would be beneficial. The candidate would be responsible for conducting medium to pilot-scale flask and bioreactor expression runs, including optimization of clone design and expression processes, and characterizing the expressed products to support ongoing R&D activities.

Candidate should be highly self-motivated. Must be able to work independently and also contribute in a team environment. Should stay current with applicable internal/external scientific literature and apply new information to successfully complete work assignments. Should be able to analyze and report data concisely and rigorously. Should possess excellent communication skills and be proficient in presenting in front of groups. Must be able to manage several tasks concurrently and be capable of adjusting to rapidly changing experimental priorities. Should be fully proficient in standard PC applications.



  • B.S. & 5+ years experience or M.S. & 2+ years experience in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Protein Biochemistry, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, or related disciplines.
