Summary:

This is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the VI Next group. Our laboratory focuses on the generation of humanized mouse models to advance our understanding of the human immune system in heath and disease. We also develop new technologies to create innovative therapeutic approaches and to advance the current state-of-art of molecular biology.

The successful candidate will be part of a selected and creative scientific team aimed at the construction of targeting vectors to modify mouse embryonic stem cells. He/She will work closely to other scientists to support projects as they progress through the pipeline, developing and optimizing new technologies.

Strong attention to details, creativity, flexibility and scientific enthusiasm are required as the candidate will need to collaborate with several groups and work in a fast-pace, ever-changing environment such as Regeneron.




Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a BS and 2-4+ years' experience or MS with 1-2+ years' experience. Strong knowledge of molecular biology and genetics is required. Knowledge of immunology is a plus.
Requirement for this job:
- Molecular cloning is required: PCR, restriction digest, Gibson cloning, DNA preps, sequence analysis and electrophoresis.
- Cell Biology: maintaining, expanding and transfecting cell lines.
- In vivo: Mouse handling and basic procedures (keep records, tissues collection).
- Proteins: Western blotting, ELISAs and basic Flow-Cytometry.
In addition to these laboratory skills, the successful candidate will:
- Maintain accurate records in electronic notebook.
- Analyze experimental data and present results in small and large group meetings.
- Collaborate both within the group and across Regeneron.
- Keep up-to-date with literature in current molecular biology technologies and immunology.
Candidates should have experience with MacVector, Microsoft Office, Sequencher, web-based genomic databases (Ensembl, NCBI, UCSC genome browser, etc…).

Candidates must be flexible and be able to multitask while handling shifting priorities.
