Position description and scope:

The successful candidate will be a member of a Biology Team and will provide important research experience and skills for the organization. Reporting to the Director of Research, the incumbent will be responsible for advancing new approaches for target identification and compound screening to expand the preclinical pipeline. 


Job responsibilities:

  1. Modeling human diseases in vitro using various cell culture technologies
  2. Designing cellular assays for miRNA-based therapeutic target identification and drug discovery
  3. Carrying out cell-based screens to identify lead compounds and support their optimization
  4. Performing molecular and cell biology studies to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of the lead compounds
  5. Supporting preclinical and clinical drug development

Position Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent degrees in molecular, cell biology, biochemistry or related discipline
  • Demonstrated ability of solving complex biological questions with systemic approaches
  • Experience in preclinical drug discovery desired but not necessary
  • Familiarity with literature on new concepts, knowledge and technologies

Techniques desired:

  • Experience in mammalian cell culture including cell lines and primary cells in various formats including adherent, suspension and 3d cultures
  • Proficiency in technologies used in cell biology including cell imaging, flow cytometry, gene expression analysis at RNA and protein levels, cell signaling pathway analysis
  • Experience in animal models and in vivo pharmacology desired but not necessary
  • Excellence in data analysis and presentation
