We are currently recruiting for a Research Associate I. The Research Associate will be assisting with studies characterizing genetic pathways that regulate energy levels. This position is intensive in benchwork, and careful technique and record keeping are critical skills. Common techniques used in the laboratory include: maintenance of mammalian cell lines, preparation of neuronal cultures, cloning, flow cytometry, assays of cellular metabolism, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, and work with mouse models of neurodegeneration.

This position will be research based with opportunity for publication. The skills and experiences acquired from this position could provide a useful background for future pursuits in medical and/or bioscience graduate school.

Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degreee in Biological Sciences
  • High level of motivation, strong problem solving skills, excellent organization and attention to detail, the ability to work well in a team environment and a track record of academic excellence.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with tissue culture, flow cytometry, lentiviral vectors and/or molecular biology.
