As a member of the Corporate Strategy & Development (CS&D) team, this individual will be responsible for leading the achievement of business development objectives for growth of SomaLogic’s health systems insights business.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and consummate deals with health systems in the US and Europe to deliver healthcare insights, driven by our SOMAscan® platform, that improve the system’s ability to manage individual and population-level health.
  • Work closely with SomaLogic’s CS&D, medical, marketing and commercial team members, external advisors, and key industry sector clients to identify and develop insight products and business models that deliver value to our customers, engage user networks, and achieve scale economics.
  • Lead the creation of business / clinical partnerships that create better health outcomes and enable SomaLogic to develop new insights and customize applications for continuous improvements of our health information platform.
  • Manage business relationships with important health system partners who are collaborating with SomaLogic to innovate new care pathways based on SOMAscan platform insights.
  • Work constructively with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive efficient decision-making and complete transactions in a timely manner, including creation of internal review/approval documents and management of key transactional steps.
  • Interact with senior management to evaluate effectively the risk-benefit tradeoffs of specific business models and investments in market development to advance overall corporate objectives.
  • Actively monitor industry and transaction trends and activities in domestic and foreign markets.


  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MD, MPH, MBA, JD, and/or other advanced degree preferred

Skills and experience

  • 10+ years of experience leading new business development, business administration and/or consulting in health systems, with emphasis on business development and/or strategic transactions.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully directing and influencing health care system operations, economics, and practices, in particular as they relate to innovation based on novel diagnostic tests and information platforms.
  • Proven track record of delivering new business opportunities in the field.
  • International experience a plus, in particular UK and Europe.
  • Experience assessing market trends, comps, and short- and long-term market potential on a global basis and making recommendations on plans, programs, goals, and strategies.
  • A critical thinker with ability to get to the right level of granularity to balance speed of execution with optimal decision-making by executive management.
  • Solid process management skills to ensure efficient completion of deal processes with multi-departmental input.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience interacting with executive-level management.
  • Clear understanding of financial analysis as well as objective evaluation of new business opportunities.

Work Environment:

Work is in typical office environment in Boulder, Colorado. Ability to travel 40% of the time, including international travel.
