About North Carolina Biotechnology Center
The North Carolina Biotechnology Center was established in 1981 by the state General Assembly. As a private, non-profit corporation, we aim to accomplish our mission through five main goals. The Center is not a site for laboratory research. In our 20-year-history, the Center has helped recruit big names in industry, attract outstanding faculty to the state's universities, and answer tough policy issues. Our 1999 Progress Report, available as a PDF file, catalogues those achievements.Last Updated: 10-22-03
