Wabash holds fast to its mission “to educate men to think critically, act responsibly, lead effectively, and live humanely.” Widely known for the excellence and accessibility of its faculty, Wabash offers the bachelor of arts degree with 24 majors and strong pre-professional programs in business, medicine, and law.
The 80,000 square-foot Hays Hall is home to the biology, chemistry, biochemistry, and neuroscience programs. Wabash is noted for the number of undergraduates who have the opportunity to conduct mentored scientific research with faculty, 100 percent of whom hold PhDs or terminal degrees. A new minor in Global Health and its accompanying Global Health Initiative allow students to work directly with health departments at the local and state level, as well as in clinics in South America. The College’s medical school acceptance rate is 84%, which is nearly twice the national average.
The Center for Innovation, Business, and Entrepreneurship augments Wabash’s liberal arts curriculum by offering short term immersive experiences in entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, and healthcare administration. It also offers a seven-week Liberal Arts Bridge to Business program, and annually hosts an Entrepreneur Summit, which attracts med-tech and technology entrepreneurs from across the country.
Approximately 38 percent of Wabash’s alumni hold advanced degrees, and Wabash has the second-ranked Alumni Network in the country. Its career center and internship program are also nationally ranked.
Only one college in the country appears on all of these "Best of" lists — Wabash College.
