The Vivostat(r) System is the only product in the world that produces surgical sealant (fibrin sealant) based on the patient's own blood. Fibrin sealant is used to stop bleedings during surgery. It improves the quality and success rate of e.g. cardiac surgery. By using the patient's own blood, the Vivostat(r) System eliminates the risk of allergic reactions or viral transmission associated with other blood based products.
Up until now Vivolution has been a small player in the European tissue sealant market, which has an estimated potential of 250 million USD in 2004 according to Frost & Sullivan.
