Medical Marketing Association Release: FDA Executive To Help Philadelphia Marketers Negotiate Government Rules For Medical Product Promotion

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- With healthcare companies under increasing scrutiny from federal regulators, the Medical Marketing Association (MMA) will sponsor a workshop for Philadelphia-area medical marketers entitled "Medical Product Promotion: Negotiating the Rules," led by Thomas Abrams, R.Ph., MBA, director of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's drug marketing division. The workshop will be held at the GlaxoSmithKline Conference Center, One Franklin Plaza, Philadelphia, PA, on Thursday, November 18, 2004, from 2:00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. (EST).

Participants will receive updates on pending FDA decisions and learn about future rules that will affect promotion of medical products. Case studies will be used to illustrate real examples of dilemmas marketers face and appropriate actions for marketing within the law.
