NEW YORK, May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Most seniors with Medicare can get a discount drug card to help pay for prescriptions. But how much are they saving? An ongoing study commissioned by the Healthcare Leadership Council is trying to find out.
Findings indicate seniors -- on average -- save more than twenty percent at the pharmacy with a discount card. People with chronic health conditions save up to twenty-five percent, and those with multiple chronic conditions save even more.
The study, conducted by the Lewin Group, also shows Medicare beneficiaries receive essentially the same discounted price regardless of where they live.
