Smoking Pot May Give You Better Night Vision

Published: Nov 01, 2016

Don’t be surprised if Snoop Dogg starts doing his concerts in the dark. A recent study published in eLife found that cannabis makes your retina more sensitive to light. Since marijuana research is forbidden on humans or other lab animals, scientists doped-up tadpoles to see how their optic nerves would respond to a light stimulus.

Researchers found that the cannabis subjects’ cells were more responsive in bright conditions, and they were also more likely to forget where they put their keys. The results could potentially help human patients with diseases included retinitis pigmentosa and glaucoma. If you’re going to experiment, please science responsibly.
