Payments that physicians receive from pharmaceutical or medical-device companies are about to become public record. Manufacturers have to keep track of “transfers of value” to doctors and teaching hospitals as of Aug. 1, according to Lexology, a news service for the legal field. They have to submit the data for the first reporting period, which runs through Dec. 31, by the end of March 2014.
