Van Drew, a dentist, has represented the First Legislative District of New Jersey since 2008 in the New Jersey State Senate and as a member of the General Assembly from 2002–2008. He has held public offices in the state since 1983. Van Drew has declared his candidacy for the United States House of Representatives in the Second Congressional District.

Van Drew said, “My top priority in Congress will be to find ways to bring economic opportunities and good jobs to South Jersey.”

He continued, “It’s important that I know the top employers in the region, such as Wedgewood Pharmacy, to understand how they have been successful on a national scale, and how we as lawmakers can support their success in terms of the tax structure, health insurance system and trade policies.”

Marcy A. Bliss, president and CEO of the company, added, “As a dentist, Dr. Van Drew understands the unique and critical role that compounding pharmacies like ours play in the healthcare system.”

She added, “Our profession is not always understood in state capitols and in Washington. We greatly appreciated his visit to become familiar with how compounding is done at the highest levels of quality, safety and efficiency so he can be an effective voice for us.”
