Third Rock Ventures Release: Company Names Sarah Larson As Partner

Industry Leader Joins as Firm’s Chief Human Resources Officer

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Third Rock Ventures, LLC today announced that Sarah Larson has joined as partner and chief human resources officer. In this new role, she is responsible for human resources at the firm. Sarah will also provide guidance and counsel to the firm’s portfolio companies as they are building their organizational capabilities, focusing on areas of human capital, leadership development, and culture creation. Sarah joins the firm from Foundation Medicine where she served as senior vice president, human resources since the company’s launch by Third Rock in 2010. Her prior experience includes senior roles in human resources and recruiting in the life sciences industry.

Sarah brings over 20 years of experience in human resources and leadership development, as well as the building of strong corporate cultures. Most recently, Sarah served as senior vice president, human resources at Foundation Medicine, where she was responsible for total rewards, talent acquisition, and alignment of human resources to support the company’s rapid growth. Prior to that, Sarah led the global human resources function at CombinatoRx (acquired by Horizon Discovery Group) and worked for several years as a recruiter and account manager at Cambridge Search, a search firm specializing in recruitment within the life sciences industry. Sarah holds a BA in Communications from Rivier College.
