St. Jude Medical Admits Quality-Control Issues, Promises Improvements

St. Jude Medical Inc. has told federal regulators that it will improve quality-control measures in making its Durata defibrillator leads, acknowledging criticism that has dogged the med-tech device maker for months. The Wall Street Journal reports that Little Canada-based St Jude, in a letter to the Food and Drug Administration, said it would increase training make other improvements at its Sylmar, Calif., facility.
