SCORR Marketing and Applied Clinical Trials Release Survey Report on Attitudes about Innovation in Clinical Trial Design
“While most companies have implemented some kind of innovative trial design, only half of these companies have a dedicated person, department or team responsible for overseeing it,” said Anne-Marie Hess, senior strategic advisor and market intelligence director at SCORR. “However, the organization type matters. Service providers are twice as likely to say they have dedicated resources, while those from academia are nearly twice as likely to say their institution does not have these resources.”
“From the survey, we found that sponsors, service providers and academia differ in their perceptions of what types of trial designs provide the best return on investment,” said Lisa Henderson, group content director at Applied Clinical Trials. “Consequently, respondents are split on what they feel they need to improve on in the implementation of new study designs.”
This report also includes information on the most common emerging trial designs, the industry outlook on innovative trial design over the next two years, benefits realized by adopting these approaches and how well these approaches have met operational and financial objectives.
