Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society And AHWP To Hold Joint Medical Device Regulatory Conference In Malaysia

Rockville, MD, USA—The Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) and the Asian Harmonization Working Party (AHWP) will hold the first AHWP & RAPS Joint Regulatory Conference 2–3 December in Selengor, Malaysia, near Kuala Lumpur. The event will bring together stakeholders involved the regulation of medical devices and medical technology from Asia and around the world.

Presenters include top executives and officials from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum, Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority, the European Commission, AdvaMed, Health Canada, Switzerland’s Directorate of Public Health, GE Healthcare, Abbott Laboratories and Interesting.org. Confirmed attendees represent many additional companies and agencies, including Taiwan’s Center for Drug Evaluation, Pakistan’s Drug Regulatory Authority, the Jordan Food and Drug Administration and the Chilean Regulatory Authority.

The conference will focus on three key areas: increasing understanding of the global regulatory landscape and how harmonized regulatory systems can be built, examining regulatory convergence and developing understanding of new regulatory tools such as Unique Device Identifiers and Single Audit Programs. Conference sessions will cover various topics related to innovation, regulatory capacity and frameworks, and global harmonization.
