OTN to Participate in Community Oncology Alliance's (COA) 4th Annual Cancer Care Legislative Day

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- OTN (Oncology Therapeutics Network), a leading independent oncology services company, today announced its support of and attendance at the Community Oncology Alliance's (COA) 4th Annual Cancer Care Legislative Day. Scheduled for Wednesday, October 26 in Washington, D.C., the Legislative Day will bring together cancer survivors, oncologists, oncology nurses, administrators, patients and caregivers from around the country to focus on the need to preserve high-quality, affordable and accessible care for Americans battling cancer. Members of Congress are expected to address the events held in Washington.

"We are participating in the Cancer Care Legislative Day because we firmly believe that it is important to protect access to high-quality, affordable cancer care, which is a hallmark of cancer treatment delivered in the community setting," said John Akscin, Vice President of Government Relations and Managed Care Services at OTN.

"We are looking forward to attending this year's Legislative Day. Its focus on community-based oncology dovetails with OTN's mission of providing community-based oncologists with the information, services, technology and support they need to run their practices as efficiently and effectively as possible and to provide the best care to their patients," said John Amos, CEO and president of OTN.

Several events are planned for Legislative Day. They include breakfast and dinner meetings as well as meetings with Members of Congress in both the House and the Senate and their staffs. COA, which was founded in 2002, is a grass-roots alliance representing community oncology practices across the country. For more information, visit www.communityoncology.org.
