FOUR Essendon footballers reportedly part of a "secret drug trial" were not given any injections, according to the pharmaceutical company which owns AOD9604, a compound at the centre of the sports doping scandal. In an announcement today to the Australian Stock Exchange, Calzada Limited says it "categorically refutes" allegations published by Fairfax Media it was involved in deceiving Essendon players to take part in a clinical trial involving AOD9604. Metabolic confirmed it included in a patent application case notes taken by sports scientist Stephen Dank documenting his treatment of four Essendon players with the compound.
