Partnership Supporting Breast Cancer Research Reaches Significant Milestone This Month

ELIZABETH, N.J., Oct. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, megabus.com announced initiatives to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, including a significant donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). "Many people, including our employees and passengers, are affected by breast cancer," said Sean Hughes, director of corporate affairs for megabus.com. "In addition to spreading awareness and encouragement this month, we hope that our annual donations to BCRF will one day lead to a cure for breast cancer."

The unique BCRF pink megabus will again hit the road throughout the entire month of October, making stops in various cities across the country.

Mid-month, a unique stop in Philadelphia at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center will have special passengers on board: therapy dogs. The animals will visit with patients currently undergoing treatment during a special animal-assisted therapy session, proven to aid both physically and emotionally. Before departing, megabus.com will also make a donation to the hospital.

"Cancer treatments are intimidating and can be emotionally draining," said Elisabeth Van Every, Communications & Outreach Coordinator with Pet Partners. "We hope that when our therapy animal teams step off the pink megabus, they bring smiles and help lift spirits for those undergoing treatment, not only during the time spent with the therapy dogs, but in the days and months ahead."
