MasterControl Introduces Supplier Management System

SALT LAKE CITY - October 28, 2008 - MasterControl Inc., a leading provider of GxP process management software solutions for the life sciences industry, today announced its new MasterControl Supplier™ supplier management system. The MasterControl Supplier system features a user-friendly interface for accessing all documentation and records relating to suppliers and makes it possible for organizations to easily and efficiently maintain Approved Vendor Lists (AVLs) down to the individual goods and services that each vendor is approved to supply.

“The MasterControl Supplier solution insures that companies have the capability to readily manage and approve vendor lists and effectively track and monitor supplier quality and status,” said Matthew M. Lowe, MasterControl Senior Product Manager, Medical Device Expert. “MasterControl helps companies maintain supplier compliance by storing all supplier-related information in one secure, easily accessible, Web-based location.”

MasterControl’s built-in supplier dashboard can be used to add goods and services to “approved to supply” lists by simply linking them to a specific supplier within the MasterControl system. If a part is linked to a supplier that is not approved, those links are disabled by the system until the supplier becomes approved or re-approved. MasterControl can also run Approved Vendor reports that include lists of the goods or services a supplier is approved to supply, contact information for each supplier returned, and the ratings of those suppliers. Reports can be for all suppliers, regardless of status.

The MasterControl system automatically tracks and stores supplier information generated from sources such as audits, non-conformance reports, supplier deviations, incoming quality inspection data, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). Because such information is electronically managed it allows users to compile supplier ratings with ease.

MasterControl Supplier features bi-directional links that allow users to automatically check the approval status of suppliers and determine which links should be marked as active or inactive. The MasterControl Supplier solution also provides users with the capability to configure templates according to the type of supplier being added. The templates include custom fields and template options such as numbering series and lifecycle as well as dynamically filtered reports and queries.

Because the platform is Web-based, geographically dispersed divisions have the ability to share supplier qualification data with other individuals and departments in the organization, which can help reduce costly duplication efforts and hasten a product’s time to market. MasterControl Supplier is also easily scaled to meet the needs of small companies and large global corporations alike. Many large companies have a corporate quality assurance group that is responsible for managing and monitoring supplier quality across multiple divisions, something that is greatly facilitated by the MasterControl solution.
