MAKO Surgical Corp. Splits Chairman Role From CEO

Mako Surgical Corp. split its chairman role from its CEO position at its annual meeting on Tuesday. The Davie-based manufacturer of a hip and knee replacement surgical robot (NASDAQ: MAKO) said Charles W. Federico, an independent director, was appointed chairman of its board. Former chairman Dr. Maurice R. Ferrer, the CEO, will remain on the board. Federico has been a director of Mako since 2007. He was previously the president and CEO of Orthofix International, a medical device company.
