Vern Davenport has left as CEO of M*Modal after overseeing a rebranding of the Franklin-based medical transcription technology and services company and helping shepherd its sale to JP Morgan Chase & Co.’s private-equity arm. His departure was among leadership changes announced Tuesday that included naming of a new board chairman. Duncan W. James, formerly CEO of health care technologies and services provider QuadraMed, replaces Davenport as M*Modal’s CEO. Health care technology and services veteran Graham O. King is M*Modal’s new chairman. “Duncan is a proven leader within the health care information technology space and we’re confident that he will build on the company’s current momentum,” said Greg Belinfanti, a partner in One Equity Partners LP. That private investment arm of New York-based JP Morgan acquired M*Modal for $1.1 billion nearly a year ago.
