Johnson & Johnson's Ethicon, Inc. Recalls Multiple Batches Of Sutures Over Possible Contamination in the UK
Published: Mar 03, 2011
Wall Street Journal -- Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) has recalled multiple batches of surgical sutures because a packaging defect may have rendered them non-sterile, which could lead to infections if used in patients. The suture problem adds to the list of J&J product recalls over the past 18 months due to various manufacturing quality lapses, affecting over-the-counter medicines including Tylenol, contact lenses, hip-replacement parts and other products. The recalls have hurt J&J sales and tarnished its reputation for quality.
