Conceivex Release: Nation's Leading Fertility Therapy Company Appoints Life Sciences Veteran To Board of Directors

FDA Cleared Conception Kit® At-Home System By Conceivex Gives Couples New 'First Step' Option
For Starting A Family

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich.--()--Conceivex, Inc., maker of The Conception Kit® at-home system, today named veteran life sciences industry executive Michael S. Rosen to its Board of Directors.

With more than four decades of global health care, pharmaceutical, and medical device experience, Rosen brings a proven combination of clinical and business expertise to Conceivex as sales and use of the company’s signature product, an FDA-cleared, insurance-reimbursed, drug- and hormone-free at-home treatment that helps couples on their journey to conception, continues to expand.

“We’re thrilled that Michael has joined our Board,” Conceivex Chairman Harry Cendrowski, said, “his experience across the broad health care landscape positions him perfectly to extend Conceivex’s ability to help employers lower their health care costs, and simultaneously provide increased fertility benefits to employees. And, as a result, better patient outcomes.”

Currently, Chairman of the Board of the Center for Healthcare Innovation, he is also Managing Director of Rosen Biosciences Strategies LLC, a life science economic development consultancy. Previously, he spent almost a decade leading the creation and integration of science parks across the U.S., working with key research universities including Johns Hopkins (Baltimore), MIT (Boston), and Northwestern University (Chicago), including the successful attraction of German, Japanese, and New Zealand life sciences companies to join these developments.

Earlier in his career, Rosen spent 20 years in senior management positions with Pfizer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Searle/Monsanto, and lived in Latin America, Japan, and Europe – as well as working extensively in Canada and Asia. Additionally, Rosen spent a dozen years as President and CEO of European and U.S. biotech and medical device companies that focused on cancer, neuroscience, wound care, and kidney disease.

The Conception Kit is available to millions of insured individuals in the U.S. via their pharma benefits managers (including Express Scripts, CVS/Caremark, and ProCare RX), with a prescription for a modest $0-$50 co-pay. It can also be purchased directly from pharmacies, including Walgreens, nationwide.

The FDA required a clinical trial on placement of the Conception Kit’s Conception Cap® (a cervical cap that is used for insemination at home and increases the likelihood of conception) and instructions by patients. While the trial focused on women’s ability to use the Conception Kit, understand instructions, and place the Conception Cap correctly, the most exciting outcome was that 24 percent of the couples in the at-home study became pregnant within the first month. Patients who had struggled to conceive prior to using the Conception Kit and had attempted other forms of assisted reproduction were enrolled in the study.

The Conception Kit is available for a modest $0-$50 co-pay and provides three months of supplies (including 24 ovulation predictors, three pregnancy tests, along with three Conception Caps, and a number of additional aides) – that, in many cases, would cost more over-the-counter than the total amount of a co-pay. Without a co-pay, the Conception Kit is available for $399.
