For the 2012 Chapter Excellence Award, Boston excelled through its operating efficiency, increase and maintenance of membership, innovative programs, and impact on members. Some of the Boston chapter’s innovative programs include: the Ambassador program (Boston chapter is the first to formalize this corporate outreach program, which ensures that programs are meeting the needs of companies’ members and prospects), Women in Science, Mentoring, Leadership Success Series, and Executive Women’s Series.
Contributing to the Boston chapter winning the award was its recently-held inaugural signature event, the Healthcare Forum, in which high-profile speakers, all leaders in local healthcare institutions, discussed healthcare reform and innovation.
“I am thrilled that our chapter has won this award. Our standard is to provide value to our members in everything we do. The principles by which we measure our success are in retaining and increasing membership, as well as diversity to all sectors of healthcare,” said Keri Collette, president of HBA Boston chapter. “Winning this award is a validation of the hard work accomplished by the many volunteers and board members for the chapter.”
Other internal HBA honors include the Leadership Excellence and Dedication award (LEAD), given annually to an outstanding member who adds considerable value to the chapter. This year’s winner for the Boston chapter was Courtney Buzzell.
